Greetings John Gutierrez Middle School!
It is my pleasure to join the Bobcat Learning Community as your new Principal. I have been honored to teach in Monterey County for the past 20 years: 15 on the Monterey Peninsula and 5 here in Salinas. I grew up in Fresno, CA. I know and love working and living in diverse communities based on agriculture and business. In my free time I love spending time with my family, cooking, and traveling.
I am an alum of The University of Washington- degree in History, C.S.U.M.B.-degree in Education, and UC Irvine-Masters in Educational Leadership. It is my belief that we should all work together to promote our students’ educational and emotional success, their safety, and their goals beyond middle school.
Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year! I am so happy to serve another year as your assistant principal. I love JG and I love everything that we have been building over the last year together. JG students and staff pride ourselves in being respectful, responsible, and dignified. We strive for growth and kindness every single day. This year we are excited and ready to build our existing programs, and create new opportunities for our students. Our Bobcats are one of a kind, and we are so happy to be gaining a new group of 6th graders that will help to make JG the best I could possibly be.
As an educator and life long learner, I believe in creating a space for ALL students where they are able to learn, grow, and thrive. I am looking forward to continuing the tradition of excellence here at John Gutierrez Middle School. Go Bobcats!
Let’s make this year the best one yet.
JGMS Assistant Principal
